Our Pre-Eco Egg Laundry Routine
Before we discovered the world of sustainable laundry with the Eco Egg, my washing habits were far from eco-friendly. If I look back, it’s clear we were caught in a cycle of using chemically laden detergents, with each load consuming vast amounts of water and energy.
Our routine was a typical reflection of an average household, oblivious to the impacts on the environment and our skin. The use of standard laundry products, though effective for cleaning, left us trapped in a whirlpool of water wastage, high electricity bills, and a lingering worry about the chemical residue on our clothes.
I’ll admit, the thought of switching to an entirely different, eco-friendly method like the Eco Egg was met with skepticism. Concerns about its effectiveness and whether it could truly match up to the cleaning power of traditional detergents clouded our judgment.
Yet, little did we know, this egg-shaped innovation was about to revolutionize our approach to laundry, steering us towards a more sustainable, skin-friendly, and cost-effective routine.
Discovering the White Eco Egg
Stumbling upon the Eco Egg was akin to finding a hidden treasure in the vast ocean of laundry solutions. My initial skepticism was soon overshadowed by the allure of its eco-friendly promises – a beacon of sustainable laundry practices in our quest for a green lifestyle.
The White Eco Egg wasn’t just another eco-friendly product; it was a potential revolution for our laundry habits, promising energy saving, water saving, and a chemical-free clean that was both skin and allergy-friendly.
Its credentials as a cost-effective, reusable, and biodegradable solution pitched perfectly with our aspirations for a low waste and zero waste life. I was ready to take a leap, convinced not just by its environment-friendly prowess but by the promise of contributing positively to the planet while addressing our washing habits.
The White Egg Laundry Test
I washed several pieces of clothes using the white egg these included:
- A white t-shirt used for the gym
- Smart white shirt I wear to work
- White socks worn by my daughter at nursery
- White bath towel
I washed at 40 degrees as I wasn’t sure if a cold temp would do the job to be honest. Other eco eggs I have used such as the Yellow Eco Egg I’ve washed at 30 degrees.
Long-Term Impacts on Our Family
Since introducing the Eco Egg into our home, the long-term impacts on our laundry routine and overall lifestyle have been nothing short of transformative. Not only have we seen a remarkable shift towards more sustainable laundry practices, but the benefits have extended well beyond just being environment friendly.
Our commitment to eco-friendly washing has led to significant energy and water saving, aligning perfectly with our goal of sustainable living. Financially, the savings have been noticeable; the cost-effective nature of the Eco Egg has reduced our monthly expenses, allowing us to allocate funds elsewhere.
Perhaps most importantly, our family’s skin health has improved dramatically. Moving away from harsh chemicals to a chemical-free, allergy-friendly solution has meant fewer skin irritations and allergies, making the Eco Egg an indispensable part of our eco-friendly products arsenal.
This journey into green cleaning reaffirms our belief in the power of zero waste and low waste lifestyles, proving that sustainable laundry solutions are not just about cleaning clothes but enhancing life quality.

Things to consider with the White Eco Egg
A few things to consider with the white eco egg.
- Oily food stains may need pre-soaking or using a stain remover to achieve a white finish.
- I washed my white at 40 degrees again because I wanted to make sure I got a thorough clean in the machine.
- Although the clothes came out super soft there wasn’t a fragrance but I didn’t mind too much!
Refilling
I haven’t refilled yet as the white laundry egg lasts for 70 washes but it was super easy to order refills for my other eco egg products from their website.
